here’s a shout out to a particular show i listen to on my local NPR station during the day.
The State of Things – with host Frank Stasio
I heard a story about a play playing in Carrboro (NC) that is based on Elvis Presley’s birthplace, Tupelo, Mississippi. also featured on the program was a gospel singer Jennifer Evans who was absolutely fantastic! to here it in full click here.
Tupelo is the setting for a new stage production that aims to address some of the myths and mysteries about the rock ‘n’ roll legend. “Tupelo: To Elvis and the Town He Left Behind” is directed by Paul Ferguson and the show opens this evening (11/9/07) with a performance by Jennifer Evans, a gospel singer who also hails from Mississippi.
The State of Things is a live program hosted by Frank Stasio devoted to bringing the issues, personalities, and places of North Carolina to our listeners. We present the Tar Heel experience through sound, story, discussion, commentary and listener participation through calls.
